The Rivers State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising his leadership and urging him to contest for a second term in office.
The lawmakers reached the decision during plenary on Thursday after a motion sponsored by the Leader of the House, Major Jack, alongside 25 other members.
In their resolution, the Assembly commended President Tinubu for what they described as his purposeful leadership and his contributions to the development of Rivers State. They highlighted key federal projects in the state—including the East-West Road, the Bonny-Bodo Road, and other ongoing works—while also acknowledging the appointment of several Rivers State indigenes into federal positions.
The legislators further applauded the President’s economic policies, noting that the reforms have increased revenue allocations to states and local governments, enabling them to meet obligations such as salary payments. They added that despite being a member of the APC, President Tinubu has not discriminated against PDP members.
Addressing national security, the Assembly noted that although challenges remain, the President has shown firm commitment to enhancing security across the country, deserving continuous support and prayers.
The lawmakers pledged their unwavering loyalty to the President through the FCT Minister and Rivers political leader, Nyesom Wike, expressing confidence in Tinubu’s stewardship of the country.
They also urged members of the 10th Assembly to commence grassroots mobilization in their respective
