The Hon. Martin Amaewhule-led Rivers State House of Assembly has passed the Rivers State Commissions of Inquiry Bill, 2024; which is a Bill for a law to repeal the Rivers State Commissions of Inquiry Law, Cap 30, Laws of Rivers State, 1999 into law.
The bill was passed into law during plenary on Wednesday.
Amaewhule, after the bill was passed into law said, the House will continue to amend or repeal and re-enact obsolete and anachronistic laws that no longer serve the interest of Rivers people.
Rt. Hon. Amaewhule expressed the hope that given the progressive import of the Bill, when passed and assented to will further deepen the doctrine of separation of power.
