Mrs Blankson, widow of Joe Blankson who drowned while rescuing passengers in a boat mishap along the Abonnema/Bakana waterway in Rivers State, says she is yet to receive the N50 million promised her by Governor Nyesom Wike.
Speaking, during an interview on Sunday, Mrs Blankson said when her husband died, there were many promises made but none has been fulfilled.
She stated that she had written many letters to the Governor and Secretary to the state government, but nothing has been done yet.
“After the Rivers State Governor made his promises, I tried to follow up to see if they could offer me employment as he said and a scholarship for my children, but nothing has happened since then. I understand that he is busy. When my husband died during the election period, there were so many promises and stuff,” she said.
Mrs Blankson also said she had to relocate to Abuja because of pressure from her in-laws who thought she has received the money from the state governor.
