The Rivers State Government says plans are underway to set up permanent IDP camps for flood victims.
The state commissioner for Environment, Hon. Sydney Gbara disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
He also said that a committee has been set up to provide support for flood victims in the State.
He added that the state government plans to begin clearing canals for easy flow of water.
He advised residents against dumping of Refuse in canals to help prevent flooding in their communities.
