The Rivers state government, through the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Board, has announced the distribution of educational materials to all Universal Basic Education Schools.
The UBE board in a statement said the distribution, set to commence today, is designed to support teachers with the right tools and equip students with the materials necessary for effective learning.
It said, the initiative, targeting nursery, primary, and junior secondary schools across the state’s 23 local government areas, is a response to the economic challenges affecting education and a step towards enhancing teaching and learning experiences.
Some of the materials to be distributed include:
Teachers’ notebooks
Marker pens
Smartboard pens and dusters
Writing pens
Textbooks covering all subjects
Phonetics textbooks
A variety of storybooks to promote reading culture
Records and diaries for junior secondary schools
School attendance registers
