The Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Oreh has urged 1000 newly employed health personnel in the state to see their roles as more than just jobs but as a critical mission to improve the lives of people in Rivers State.
Oreh made this known yesterday, at the orientation program for the personnel.
She said, “You and health personnel in general are the blood that flows through the veins and the arteries of the healthcare system. We cannot do anything without you…His Excellency, Sir, Dr Siminalayi Fubara has a grand vision for what healthcare in Rivers State should look like, but that vision cannot be accomplished without the work that you will do.”
Dr. Oreh emphasized the importance of a people-centered approach, reminding the new personnel that their true bosses are the patients they serve. She encouraged them to dedicate their skills and expertise to enhancing the well-being of the people, ensuring that every individual seeking healthcare receives compassionate and effective care.
She added that health workforce strengthening is a key pillar of the #Health4AllRivers strategy, and this is part of the state government’s commitment to prioritizing the retention, recruitment, and training of the needed health workforce to ensure the steady availability of the critical health workforce required to provide services in rural and remote parts of the state.
