The Rivers State Government says in consonance with the Renewed Hope Mantra of Mr. President it is interested in the Development of the Niger Delta Region and the State.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara stated this while playing host to the Hon. Minister of the Niger Delta Development Engr. Abubakar Momoh at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday, 19th September, 2024.
Represented by his Deputy Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, Governor Fubara said he believes that if you get everybody involved especially the youths, it pays to empower them develop them and make them to have financial strength, stressing that by doing so we have renewed their hope and renewed the hope of everybody within the system.
According to him the Ministry’s proposed choice of organizing another Economic Summit in November 2024, is beyond the fact that the State had earlier organized its Economic Summit, noting that it demonstrates to the world that Rivers State is focused on things that has to do with development, that Rivers State is safe for people to come to do business in the State.
“I want to thank you for recognizing the antecedents of the Rivers State Government in taking seriously things that will turn around the economic development of not only Rivers State but the entire region”.
In his remarks the Minister of Niger Delta Development Engr. Abubakkar Momoh who spoke through Dr. (Mrs) Jesam Oarhe the Head of Administration in the Ministry of Niger Delta disclosed that the function and mandate of the Ministry of Niger Delta is geared towards ensuring the empowerment and the speedy development of the Niger Delta Region.
He said the Ministry was collaborating with stake holders to organize an Economic Summit in November, 2024 and expressed appreciation to Governor Fubara for the positive impact of his programmes on the good people of Rivers State which, according to him is in line with the mandate of the Ministry of Niger Delta.
