The Rivers State Government says the reason why the Cancer and Cardiovascular center that was built and commissioned by the Nyesom Wike administration has not been put to use is because the contractor that was contracted to to run the hospital pulled out following increased costs of running the facility
Commissioner for Health Adaeze Oreh made this disclosure while in a chat with Journalists on Wednesday.
She assured that the hospital including the mother and child hospital would soon be made functional in the coming weeks following interventions by the state.
The health commissioner also disclosed that 40 Primary Health Care centers would be rehabilitated in the coming days to boost healthcare delivery at the local level in the state.
