Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG), Professor Lucky Worika, has dismissed claims that the state government is conducting secret employment into the civil service.
Speaking in an interview, Worika said he was not aware of any such activity, stressing that the ongoing verification exercise, especially at the local government level, remains a priority for the administration.
The SSG also maintained that the exercise led to the saving of ₦5 billion in August.
His clarification comes after a youth activist, Charles Jaja, accused the state government of engaging in covert recruitment and demanded accountability over funds accrued to the state during the emergency period
