The Rivers State Government has confirmed the arrest of Rivers lawmaker, Hon. Sokari Goodboy and a chieftain of the PDP in the state, Ichemati Ezenwo in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Punch, Special Assistant on Electronic Media to Gov. Fubara, Jerry Omotsegunwa, confirmed the incident in a statement and called for their immediate release.
He said, “They were there in solidarity so why should they be arrested? Going there to show solidarity, they were not the only ones.
“A lot of Governors also came there with their people and coming to picket some people on the orders of an individual is not it at all. So they should be released immediately.”
The two men were arrested at the venue of the NEC meeting of the PDP in Abuja yesterday.
