Reports reaching Elanhub indicates that residents of Nkpogu waterfront have now been displaced. This is coming three days after Governor Nyesom Wike gave them notice to quit threatening to demolish the area
Gov Wike had during a visit to the area said the place was both a hiding place to criminals and been used for illegal production of bottled water and drinks
Different earth moving machines were seen pulling down structures. About ten Operation Sting Patrol Hilux trucks loaded with armed police officers were also stationed to supervise the demolition.
Some of the displaced residents of the area who were seen packing their belongings said the three-day notice was too short, lamenting that they have no where to go.
