The Rivers State Government has awarded full scholarships to another batch of 150 students of Rivers origin who have secured provisional admission into PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt, to study Medicine, Surgery, and other medical-related courses.
The beneficiaries underwent a screening and verification exercise on Thursday at the Ministry of Education conference hall in Port Harcourt.
Addressing the students, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Azibaolanari Uzoma-Nwogu, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to quality education and manpower development under the leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
According to her, Governor Fubara’s approval for the continuation of the PAMO scholarship programme reflects his dedication to expanding access to professional education.
“His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, is committed to quality education. We are grateful and appreciative of the Governor because without his approval for the continuity of this scholarship, we would not be here,” she stated.
She urged the beneficiaries to remain focused, uphold good conduct, and work hard to justify the government’s investment in their future. She warned them against social vices, reminding them that their journey to greatness has just begun.
