The Rivers State Government has approved the complete rehabilitation and modernization of the State Secretariat Complex to provide a more conducive workplace for civil servants.
Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, announced this on Wednesday at the Gala and Award Ceremony marking the 2025 Civil Service Week in Port Harcourt.
He said the project aims to improve working conditions, enhance productivity, and instill pride among the workforce.
“The Secretariat, an iconic hub of our administration, will be fully modernized to provide an environment that inspires efficiency and excellence,” Ibas stated.
He also disclosed that the government had approved the purchase of 106 houses of different types for civil servants, stressing that the initiative underscores his administration’s commitment to improving their welfare in tangible and lasting ways.
