The Rivers State Police Command has said that it is illegal and unethical to pay for bail, as it is free.
The State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan disclosed this in a chat with journalists yesterday in Port Harcourt.
He said any officer that demands money for bail is committing a criminal offence. He charged residents to report such offences to the command.
