The Rivers State Water Supply Sanitation Agency (RIWASA) in collaboration with the United Nations International Children Fund (UNICEF), has carried out a hand washing and sanitisation advocacy programme in Port Harcourt and Obio Akpor LGAs.
Acting General Manager of RIWASA, Napoleon Adah in a statement in Port Harcourt said the initiative is aimed at encouraging and teaching people how to wash their hands amid Covid-19.
He said with the hand washing machine donated by the UNICEF, the state now has the best hand washing facility in the country. Adah stated that he and his team went round demonstrating to residents how to wash their hands, to help curb the spread of the virus.
The Acting General Manager furthermore, commended the commissioners of Water Resources and Health in their efforts in fighting the pandemic.
