The Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, has urged residents of the state to always clean their environments and not only on days slated for environmental sanitation across the state.
The Agency, made the call during a sensitization programme across the City of Port Harcourt.
It advised residents to stop the dumping of refuse at unapproved sites, adding that those who go against the directive would face the full weight of the law when caught.
It also warned scavengers to desist from scattering wastes dumped at approved sites.
RIWAMA, stated that it is committed to ensuring that Port Harcourt and its environs are always clean.
