The Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), in collaboration with Environmental Health Essentials and Sonica International is to organise a one-day training on the management of medical wastes in the state.
Jerry Needam, Media aid to the Sole Administrator of RIWAMA, Felix Obuah disclosed this in a statement.
He said the training is expected to hold on Thursday, 12 November 2020 at the RIWAMA premises situated at Kilometer 6 Ikwerre road, Port Harcourt by 9:00AM.
The statement equally noted that the training, which is for clinical service providers, pharmacies, hospitals, patent medicine stores, laboratories and morgues is to educate them on how to manage and dispose medical wastes.
He furthermore noted that after the training they would ensure that every health care provider obeys the law and follows due process on the management of waste in the state.
