The Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA has shared five waste management practices to help keep the state clean.
The agency shared this on its official Facebook page on Wednesday.
They are;
Bag and Bin Your Waste: Always place household waste in secure bags and use a waste bin with a lid to prevent spillage and discourage pests.
Dispose of Waste at Designated Times: Drop your waste at designated collection points or receptacles during the approved hours (e.g., 6 PM to 10 PM) to ensure timely pick-up and proper disposal.
Avoid Littering: Do not throw litter or any waste materials on streets, sidewalks, or public areas. Always use a proper waste bin for disposal.
Dispose of Waste Only in Authorized Locations: Never dump waste in unauthorized or illegal locations, such as empty plots, rivers, or roadways. Use government-approved waste disposal sites or bins.
Separate and Recycle: Separate recyclable materials (e.g., plastic, glass, paper) from general waste to reduce the amount of trash going to landfills and promote recycling efforts.
