The Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) has published a comprehensive list of approved refuse collection points across Obio Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Government Area (PHALGA) as part of efforts to strengthen proper waste disposal and improve environmental cleanliness.
In a statement issued by its management, the agency said the designated collection points are intended to make waste disposal more organized and accessible for residents while discouraging indiscriminate dumping across the city.
RIWAMA urged members of the public to make use of only the approved refuse points and avoid dumping waste on road medians and other unauthorized locations, noting that such practices deface the environment and create health and safety risks.
The agency stressed that public compliance is essential to maintaining the state’s visual appeal and promoting a healthier living environment. It added that monitoring and enforcement activities will continue to ensure adherence to proper waste disposal regulations.
