Civil servants across Rivers State started the week of Monday, December 28, 2025, with celebrations after receiving a ₦100,000 Christmas bonus directly into their bank accounts.
The special festive intervention, personally approved by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, is aimed at supporting workers during the holiday season. The bonus has sparked excitement across the state’s ministries and departments, with many staff expressing gratitude for the timely financial boost.
Several civil servants noted that the gesture has significantly lifted morale within the public service during the Yuletide period.
This year’s payment continues a tradition initiated since Governor Fubara assumed office, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to a worker-focused governance agenda and prioritising the welfare of the state’s workforce.
