Weeks after she was criticized for presenting an award to her boyfriend for his love and support, Comr. Rita Ogechukwu, Welfare Secretary of the Student Union Government, Rivers State University is in the news again, this time for the right reasons.
Rita Ogechukwu, few days ago donated items such as brooms, mobs, toiletries, buckets among others to students of the school, as part of her contribution to their welfare.
The event which was held at the SUG building was well attended by students and officials of the union.
Some of the students in a chat with us, commended Comr. Rita for the kind gesture and urged other officials to emulate her.
The beneficiaries, also said the gesture was the first of its kind in recent times.
Rita, who recently apologised for the award presentation, urged the students to make good use of the items received.
