The body of a middle-aged man was recovered on Friday after he was crushed to death by a truck along the Nkpolu axis of the East-West Road in Port Harcourt.
Eyewitnesses said the victim, who was on his way to the mosque, was first hit by a private car while attempting to cross the road. As the driver of the car tried to assist him, a speeding truck ran over the man, killing him instantly.
Police later arrived at the scene to control the situation, while the remains of the deceased were taken away for burial.
