Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers state, Tonye Cole has reacted to his endorsement by the candidate and leadership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
The ADC candidate, Tonte Ibraye yesterday announced his withdrawal from the race and urged his supporters to vote for Tonye Cole.
Cole in a statement shortly after the endorsement, commended the ADC candidate for believing in his vision enough to officially step down to support him.
He stated that Rivers state is bigger than any individual, adding that people must come together to do what they collectively agree is best for the state.
“I want to appreciate the leadership of the Rivers State African Democratic Congress (ADC) and their gubernatorial flag bearers Mr. Tonte Ibraye and Ms. Tonto Dikeh, for believing in our vision enough to officially step down and channel their support for my candidacy,” he said.
“Rivers State is bigger than any of us, and we must come together to do what we collectively agree is best for Rivers State,” he added.
