Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Arch. Tonye Cole has gifted a seamstress, Faith Wegere popularly known as small madam a sewing machine in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.
Cole, who disclosed this in a statement said he met the girl in her madam’s shop while mechanics fixed their tire after it went flat while visiting the area few days ago.
According to him, the young girl impressed him with her skills and confidence which was why he decided to encourage her creativity and increase her output.
Part of his statement reads
..We had a flat tire while visiting Isiokpo last week, and I dare say it was fate that allowed that happen, to ensure I met with Faith Wegere (aka Small Madam).
While the mechanics fixed our tire, I took a walk to a nearby tailor’s shop, where I met a young girl who impressed me with her skill and confidence.
I gifted her with a sewing machine to encourage her creativity and improve her output. Her madam, Chioma Okafor purchased the machine from Aba.
Meeting ‘Small Madam’ was proof that we have so many talented young people in Rivers State, who have the skill and desire to thrive, but just need the right environment and a helping hand.
