Chief, Tony Okocha has been elected as the substantive chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State.
Okocha, emerged as chairman, while Eric Nwibani was elected as Secretary during the party’s Congress which was conducted by its National leadership in Port Harcourt at the weekend, despite a court order stopping the congress.
Okocha, shortly after he was declared winner, commended party faithfuls for finding him worthy to lead, adding that he would ensure the party takeover the state in 2027.
The congress had in attendance Chief (Hon) Victor Giadom; APC National Vice-Chairman, South-South, and Dr. Innocent Barikor, DG NESREA, stakeholders of the party both at the National and State levels among others.
Meanwhile, the Chief Emeka Beke-led faction of the party has dismissed the congress, noting that its tenure is yet to elapse.
