The Rivers State Government has announced that the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day Parade and Wreath-Laying Ceremony will take place today, Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Secretary to the State Government, Dr Benibo Fredrick Anabraba in a statement said, the event is scheduled to hold at the Isaac Boro Park Cenotaph in Port Harcourt, with proceedings expected to commence at 10:00 a.m.
He said the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara will lead the wreath-laying ceremony in honour of fallen heroes. He will be supported by the Deputy Governor, service chiefs, and other top government officials and dignitaries.
Guests attending the ceremony have been advised to be seated by 9:30 a.m. to ensure a smooth and orderly programme.
