Former Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, George Nwaeke, has alleged large-scale misappropriation of public funds under the administration of suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Speaking at a press briefing on Saturday, Nwaeke claimed that financial misconduct under Fubara’s leadership was unprecedented in the state’s history.
“The level of stealing of public funds and assets witnessed in the last two years is mind-boggling. I have never experienced it in the history of the state as we also had the highest allocation ever within this period,” he said.
Nwaeke stated that while he could not disclose all his evidence to the media due to its sensitivity, he would provide relevant details to security operatives when required.
