A group known as International Society for Social Justice and Human Rights (ISSJHR) says the exit of Daar Communications from Rivers state will further deflect the economy of the state, following the reversal of ownership of plots of land occupied by the organization.
Leader of the group, Jackson Omenazu said this in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
According to him, the company employs about 48 Rivers people and if they leave, those persons have automatically lost their jobs.
“From our investigations, Daar Communications employs 48 Rivers people and if care is not taken and they leave Rivers State, 48 persons have lost their jobs, so where do we go from there?” he said.
The Rivers State House of Assembly had few days ago announced a reversal of the property’s ownership, stating that DAAR Plc failed to provide land allocation documents from the Rivers State Government.
It also said the organization paid about N86 million to the Rivers State Government against the request of over N477 million.
