Chairman of the Social Democratic Party in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Mathew Somiari has said that the just concluded elections in Rivers state proved that former governor, Nyesom Wike is to match for Sen. Magnus Abe.
Somiari, who was reacting to the ongoing war of words between political actors in the state on who should be appointed Minister by the president, said now is Abe’s time as the era of Wike is gone.
He called on members of the party to trust and believe in God’s divine grace that their leader Senator Magnus Ngei Abe would receive the President’s favor whenever it comes out.
Part of his statement reads,
As an objective leader of our beloved party the SDP, and as someone who worked extremely well to get His Excellency Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe elected, I was totally disappointed by the despicable manner in which the election was stolen.
However, now that the elections are behind us, and the whole world awaits the Presidential ministerial list, and knowing how the President has kept his long time loyalist very close, we must trust and believe in God’s devine grace that our magnificent leader Senator Magnus Ngei Abe would receive the President’s favor whenever it comes out.
Hence, we must continue to pray for God’s will to manifest, rather than the will of men. We must also stop worrying about Wike the psychopath and his henchmen, because the President in his wisdom cannot be fooled.
I strongly believe in the President’s ability to discern the facts from the lies. The President knows who worked with him, and who didn’t. Let us not be carried away by Wike’s schemes and shenanigans. In Rivers State, the last election only proves that he is no march to our Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe.
For now, as long as politics in Rivers State is concerned, it’s Magnus Ngei Abe’s time. The era of Wike the Machiavellian is over, and gone. Let us leave it that way.
