The Rivers State Taskforce on Illegal Trading and Motor parks, have sacked and arrested two of its members for alleged extortion.
Coordinator of the Taskforce, DSP Felix Nwadiabie (retd), disclosed this in a statement today, in Port Harcourt.
He said the two sacked members were arrested for allegedly extorting N70,000 from traders at Elelenwo Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
He stated that the two suspects have been charged to court in line with the laws of the land.
He furthermore said the force is not a money making venture, as anyone caught in the same unlawful act will be arrested and dismissed.
