The Rivers State Taskforce on Illegal Street Trading and Motor Park, has sacked ten of its officials for extortion.
Coordinator of the taskforce, Felix Nwadibiye, disclosed this in a statement, today.
He said the officials were caught and dismissed for extorting motorists.
He stated that they were deployed to Artillery and Oil Mill areas, but abandoned their place of assignment to a different area to carryout the illegal act.
Nwadibiye, also said that the Taskforce will not condole any act of extortion, as the group is not a money making venture.
He urged the public to report any of the officials caught, engaging in illegal activities.
