Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, Sen. Magnus Abe has appealed to Governor, Nyesom Wike and chairman of the PDP in the state, Desmond Akawor to play by the rules and shun violence.
Abe made the appeal in a statement few days ago while allegeing that Akawor sent thugs to attack him in Oyigbo.
According to him, the state will be ungovernable if everyone decides to be violent as everyone has a village and road.
He, furthermore said it is high time things are done differently to allow democracy take its root this era.
“We all know what happened in Rivers before and how many people lost lives needlessly because of the lust for power on the part of those who will not respect the rules of the game. Once more we are threading same dangerous pact,” he said.
“I appeal to the governor (Wike), appeal to all leaders of the PDP, particularly Desmond Akawor himself that this kind of behaviour is not tolerable. And if all of us behave like this, the state will be ungovernable because everybody has a village and a road passed through all our village,” he added.
