The management of Rivers State University has confirmed incidents of theft in some student hostels, attributing them to fellow students rather than external intruders.
Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Bright Opara, made this known in a statement issued on Thursday. He disclosed that one of the suspects, a student, was recently apprehended for stealing a laptop and has been evicted from the hostel with the matter referred to the disciplinary Committee of the institution.
Prof. Opara emphasized that the institution is intensifying efforts to strengthen campus security and safeguard the lives and property of students.
