The Rivers State University, has been rated and awarded University of the year by the International Research Achievement Centre, Canada.
Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Nlerum Okogbule disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the institution was chosen as the best in 2021 due to its numerous achievements, which includes: uninterrupted academic activities at the peak of the Covid-19.
The VC, also said the accreditation exercise conducted by the Medicine and Dental Council of Nigeria and the National Universities Commission was a huge success, as no programme offered by the school was denied accreditation.
He said all these were made possible by the achievements of Governor Nyeson Wike in infrastructural development and the hard work put in by staff of the institution.
He commended the Governor for his support since his assumption of office and also assured parents/guardians of the safety of their children/wards at the institution.
The VC said measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of all.
