Rivers State Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has declared that the state has been successfully stabilised under his stewardship.
Speaking on Tuesday during a public lecture themed “Democracy and Good Governance” at the Government House, Ibas said his administration laid a strong foundation for Rivers to emerge as a model of good governance in Nigeria. He noted that peaceful local government elections were conducted under his watch, restoring democratic governance at the grassroots.
The administrator thanked Rivers people for their support and urged citizens to recommit to tolerance, reconciliation, and collective progress.
In his remarks, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika, described the event as a historic milestone, marking the end of six months of emergency rule and the return to democratic governance. He stressed the duty of all citizens to safeguard institutions that promote justice, fairness, and accountability.
