The Nigeria centre for disease control NCDC, has announced the confirmation of another Coronavirus case in Rivers State.
This was revealed via the NCDC’s social media handle on Friday night. The total number of confirmed cases in the state now stands at 14.
Although, few fatalities have been recorded in the state since the confirmation of the index case, there is palpable concerns over a possible increase in the number of COVID-19 cases considering the loopholes at the state borders.
The governor had stated earlier in a state wide broadcast that most coronavirus patients in the state contacted the virus outside the state but were allowed entry into the state by the security personnels at the state borders.
The governor who also made the wearing of face mask compulsory in all public places in the state has not made any comments about the new case as of the time of filling this report.
