The Rivers State Government has announced a partnership with the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) to construct a transmission station in Ogoni. The initiative is part of the state’s efforts to provide 24-hour electricity across all communities.
The Commissioner for Power, Solomon Eke, disclosed this on Monday during the commissioning of solar-powered streetlights across 16 communities in Gokana Local Government Area. The project was spearheaded by the council’s chairman, Monday Dumiya.
Eke commended Dumiya for the streetlight project and other developmental initiatives achieved within his first 100 days in office.
