A group known as Concerned Citizens of Rivers State, says an Ogoni man cannot be the next governor of the state in 2023, because “Ogoni is upland.”
The group, disclosed this after a meeting in Port Harcourt, Today.
They said the upland has occupied Brick House since 1999 and in 2023, the governor should come from riverine.
It also said the upland should support the riverine to produce the next Governor, in the spirit of fairness, justice and equity.
“Ogoni is Upland. They cant be Governor. The Governor should come from the Riverine,” the group said.
There have been calls for a riverine governor in the state in 2023, as many believed that the upland has held power for too long.
