A yet-to-be identified man has escaped death after he fell from a two-storey building at the Iloabuchi axis of Diobu in Port Harcourt, few days ago.
The victim, in a chat with us, said he is lucky to be alive as only God knows why he decided to spare his life.
He said the incident occurred after he slept off while resting on the baluster of the building.
According to him, he normally rests on the baluster after the days hard job. However, on that fateful day he slept off and fell from the high rise building into a ditch filled with water.
“Na God I get to thank o! I no know why him just decide to save me. I fall from this two-storey building land inside this gutter. Na the water wey dey inside the gutter help him. In fact, na God save me. I must do Thanksgiving,” he said.
Eyewitnesses say they were scared when the incident occurred, as no one thought he would survive.
A woman who sells fruits close to the building, said she heard a loud sound from the ditch, and when she flashed her torch to know what was going on, behold it was a human being struggling for help.
“I shout, come rush go there before people gather help carry am up. If no be God that boy for don die,” she said.
