Today, October 5, 2024, voters across Rivers State are heading to the polls for the much-anticipated local government elections. This election will determine leadership in the state’s 23 local government areas (LGAs), where new chairpersons and councilors will be elected.

Security forces, including police and other agencies, have been deployed to maintain order and prevent any disruption during the voting process.
