The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor-Amadi, has announced that the annual vacation for judges of the State High Court will commence on Monday, June 24, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chief Registrar of the Rivers State High Court, David Ihua-Maduenyi. According to the statement, regular court sittings are scheduled to resume on September 17, 2025.
The court vacation, the statement noted, is in accordance with Order 49, Rule 4 of the High Court of Rivers State (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2023, as amended. It added that all judicial divisions of the High Court will remain closed during the period.
However, Ihua-Maduenyi clarified that urgent matters filed during the vacation will be handled by designated vacation judges to be appointed by the Chief Judge.
