In a bid to ease voting during elections next year, the Independent National Electoral Commission in Rivers State, has advised existing voters and registrants to transfer their units to the new polling units created by the commission.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Obo Effanga said this in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt yesterday.
He stated that as part of its Continuos Voters Registration programme, the commission is set to begin ward to ward registration of voters in the state, next week.
According to him, the registration will be done on a rotational basis and that measures have been put in place to capture more locations ahead of the general elections.
He also said that steps have been taken to ensure that people do not register twice, noting that it is a crime to do so.
Effanga, explained that the commission is doing everything possible to ensure a hitch free exercise for Nigerians.
