Port Harcourt, May 23, 2025 — The Rivers State Government has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that Deputy Governor Professor Ngozi Nma Odu has resigned from office.
In a statement released on Friday, Michael Amirize, Special Assistant on Communication and ICT to the Deputy Governor, described the rumors as false and urged the public to disregard them.
“Professor Odu remains the Deputy Governor of Rivers State and continues to serve His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara,” Amirize stated.
The government called on the public to rely on verified sources for information and warned against the spread of unsubstantiated claims.
