The Rivers State Government has scheduled a statewide re-verification exercise for all pensioners on its payroll, commencing Thursday, 14th August 2025.

According to a statement signed by the Acting Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Inyingi S. I. Brown, the approval for the exercise was granted by the State Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.

Pensioners are required to present their Bank Verification Number (BVN) with a picture, a passport photograph, and a pension identification card at designated venues based on their banks.

The verification schedule is as follows:

Thursday, 14th August — Pensioners with Access Bank, EcoBank, and First Bank accounts will report to the Ministry of Justice Conference Hall, State Secretariat Complex, Port Harcourt. FCMB account holders will be verified at the Civic Centre Main Bowl.

Friday, 15th August — Fidelity Bank, Globus Bank, and GTB pensioners will be attended to at the Ministry of Justice Conference Hall, while Polaris Bank account holders will go to the Civic Centre Main Bowl.

Saturday, 16th August — Heritage Bank, Keystone Bank, Mayfresh Bank, Premium Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Sterling Bank, Suntrust Bank, and Titan Trust Bank pensioners will verify at the Ministry of Justice Conference Hall, while UBA account holders will be processed at the Civic Centre Main Bowl.

Monday, 18th August — Unity Bank pensioners will report to the Ministry of Justice Conference Hall, while Union Bank pensioners will use the Civic Centre Main Bowl.

Tuesday, 19th and Wednesday, 20th August — Zenith Bank account holders and pensioners residing in Bonny will be verified at the Ministry of Justice Conference Hall, the Civic Centre Main Bowl, and the Bonny Local Government Area Council Headquarters.

The government urged all affected retirees to adhere strictly to their allocated dates and venues to ensure a smooth and orderly process.
