The Rivers State Executive Council has approved a series of major infrastructural projects targeted at improving community welfare, promoting development, and enhancing government efficiency across the state.
The approvals were granted during the Council meeting held on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Among the projects approved is the construction of a 4.8-kilometre reinforced concrete shoreline protection and reclamation at Queens Town and Epellema–Iloma–Minima communities in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area.
Similarly, the Council endorsed a 2.5-kilometre shoreline protection and reclamation project covering Ndoni, Oniukwu, Isuikwu, and Ase-Azage communities in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area. Another 2.5-kilometre shoreline protection and reclamation project was approved for Utuechi, Obiofu, Isala, Ani Eze, and Oduguri communities, also in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA.
In addition, the Council approved the comprehensive renovation, retrofitting, and furnishing of the Rivers State Secretariat Complex in Port Harcourt, a move aimed at providing a more conducive and efficient work environment for civil servants.
