PORT HARCOURT – Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, has called on the Rivers State House of Assembly to reconsider its stance, warning that continued resistance to Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s efforts to implement the Supreme Court ruling could plunge the state into severe political and economic turmoil.
He emphasized that the governor has shown a clear commitment to compliance, and any further obstruction could lead to financial hardship for civil servants, retirees, and residents.
Johnson urged lawmakers to prioritize the state’s welfare, cautioning that failure to act swiftly could escalate the crisis and disrupt governance.
This follows a few hours after the Rivers State House of Assembly issued a notice of gross misconduct against the governor and his deputy, Ngozi Odi.
