A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Dakuku Peterside says the Rivers State Secretariat has remained a shadow of its glorious past.
Dakuku, in his New Year message alleged that civil servants use torch lights to access the stair case at the state secretariat.
He accused the state government of abandoning the welfare of civil servants in 2021 and failed to promote any of them last year.
He also said that the government withheld 12 months pension and gratuities of pensioners, adding that despite the harsh realities, civil servants remained committed to their duties.
Dakuku, noted that despite plunging the state into a debt of over four hundred billion in the name of building flyovers, the government failed in the areas of healthcare, Education and human capital development.
He called on Rivers people to use the new year to correct the mistakes of the past and choose a new path.
