Civil servants in Rivers State have raised alarm over deteriorating conditions at the state Secretariat, citing lack of electricity, non-functional elevators, and absence of running water.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the workers expressed frustration over the daily challenges they face, including using torchlights to navigate dark stairwells up to the 10th floor. They described the situation as physically exhausting and detrimental to productivity.
The civil servants called on the state administrator to urgently address the infrastructural issues, stressing that immediate intervention is necessary for them to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
