Chairman of Emuoha local government area, Hon. Chidi Lloyd has denied owing workers of the council.
Lloyd, in a statement yesterday, while reacting to claims by some health workers of the council that they are being owed salaries for months, said no worker of council is being owed.
According to him, such persons are ghost workers and not genuine staff of the council.
He called on members of the public to ignore such claims, as all true staff of the council are being paid as at when due.
On the issue of slash of salaries: Hon. Lloyd threatened to take legal action to compel workers to refund extra monies received, if the complaints continue.
He said those affected were receiving more than they ought to, after forging some documents.
He noted that monies recovered, are been used to carryout projects in the LGA.
Some aggrieved persons who claimed to be health workers of the council, yesterday, alleged non-payment of salaries, despite reporting to duty on a daily basis.
They called on the state government to intervene in the matter, by transfering salaries of health workers from local government councils to the Rivers State Healthcare Management Board.
