The five abducted staff of the Rivers State Chapter of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria have been released.
The union, disclosed this in a statement over the weekend. It said the workers were released on Saturday night.
The workers and three other persons were abducted few days ago by unknown gunmen along the Kula-abonema waterways.
The union had threatened to shutdown the waterways in the state, if the workers were not released unconditionally.
